Helping to Improve the Performance of Electricity Networks

LCT Assess

Low Carbon Technology Compliance and Assessment

Threepwood support a number of clients relating to LCT devices – such as heat pumps, electric vehicle chargers, inverter connected generators (PV, wind, battery). These projects relate to Standards compliance of LCT devices and their connection assessment to the public electricity distribution networks in UK and Ireland. The particular skills and competence we bring to these projects include:

  • Compliance with ENA Engineering documents for power quality: EREC G5, EREC P28
  • Compliance with ENA Engineering documents for generation: EREC G98, EREC G99
  • Compliance with international standards for generators: EN 50549-1
  • Compliance with EMC product Standards: IEC 61000-3-2, IEC 61000-3-3, IEC 61000-3-11, IEC 61000-3-12
  • Modelling and assessing harmonic performance of LCT devices
  • Modelling and assessing voltage fluctuation (e.g. flicker and step voltage change) performance of LCT devices
  • Considering the assumptions in EREC G5 against ‘real’ harmonic data

ESB Networks LCT Register

In October 2024 ESB Networks began development of an LCT Register. Threepwood are supporting the development of the LCT Register and are acting as ESB Network’s agent for any LCT device requiring registration.
