Transformer Specialist

Elizabeth joined Threepwood in May 2019 as an Associate. She is a Fellow of the IET and a Chartered Engineer. Elizabeth has worked in the areas of transformer design and transformer monitoring for over 30 years. Elizabeth did her primary degree at The Queen’s University of Belfast (QUB) and then worked for Bonar Long/ABB, designing transformers up to 250 MVA and 400 kV, where she became the engineering manager, responsible for all transformer design and quality control. She then spent some time at Hawker Siddeley Power Transformers as Development Manager, making improvements to their transformer design processes and computer programs. After a few years in consultancy and completing her Masters degree at QUB, she joined Kelman/GE as a transformer specialist and product manager for dissolved gas analysis equipment.

In 2011, Elizabeth joined Winder Power as Technical Director, running the engineering department of electrical, mechanical and control systems designers. She took the company forward into the design and manufacture of 66 kV transformers and made significant improvements to the quality system.
