Principal Consultant
Paul transitioned to his current Associate Consultant role in January 2024. Prior to this he joined Threepwood in January 2021 as a Principal Consultant. Specialising in electricity networks with 30 years’ experience, his key responsibilities include the introduction, implementation and review of Future Networks to enable connection of new technologies to the networks, with the aim of energy industry achieving Net Zero and Green Recovery targets, as well as providing robust strategies and solutions to the energy sector.
Paul began his career with what is now ScottishPower Energy Networks, where he spent 20 years in progressive roles and responsibilities including project management, operational duties (including senior authorised person), network design and asset management. He was instrumental in the introduction of Condition Based Maintenance techniques.
Prior to his role at Threepwood, Paul spent 10 years at Energy Networks Association, latterly as Director of Operations and Safety, leading a large team looking after Engineering Standards, Innovation, Open Networks Project (DSO Implementation) Smart Metering and SHE. Paul is an Incorporated Engineer and currently lives in the North East and enjoys the great outdoors with his wife, especially Arctic expeditions, including skiing across Greenland and sea kayaking in various Arctic locations.
